Ribbon Cutting: Building Resiliency Center
Please join Chamber and community members as we welcome the Building Resiliency Center with a ribbon cutting.
The BRC is located at 6295 Skyway in the old Bank of America Building.
One of the Long-Term Recovery Projects identified in the Community Vision Plan, the Building Resiliency Center is a one stop shop for residents and contractors during the Ridge rebuild effort. Constructed in 1975, the building was donated to the Town of Paradise by Bank of America after the Camp Fire. Though it sustained minor damage in the fire, like many buildings in Paradise that survived, there was some work to be done to make it ready for occupancy. At a little under 8,000 square feet, the building dramatically increases the size of the Town of Paradise Building Department. Butte County also staffs the Center and is able to issues permits for those wishing to build in Magalia, the Upper Ridge, and other parts of the County.
Opening the BRC would not have been possible without the generous support of the North Valley Community Foundation Butte Strong Fund, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Ray Morgan and AT&T. Their financial contributions paid for the repairs, equipment and coordinator position necessary to open the building to the public on January 27th, 2020.
Join us on Friday February 7th, 2020 at 10 am at the BRC to celebrate this milestone for our community as we rebuild. We’ll start the event with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and tributes for our donors and supporters, followed by tours of the building. Light refreshments will be provided. The Town of Paradise wants to welcome everyone home. The Building Resiliency Center is where we begin.
