Public Meeting: Sierra Nevada Conservancy
Significant changes are underway in the Sierra Nevada Region. The Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) is striving to adapt to the changes and to be as effective as possible. We are hoping that you can help us develop a comprehensive understanding of these changes and what is needed for successful stewardship in the Region.
The SNC is conducting a Strategic Assessment of the needs of the Sierra Nevada Region in order to address current critical issues, including uncharacteristically large wildfire, tree die-off, and upper watershed degradation. We are working with current and new stakeholders across the state to help us chart a course to improve the ecosystem health and resiliency of the Region, and to understand what actions the SNC can and should take in making this happen.
These Subregional meetings will be held concurrently all over the Sierra- ours will be one of six. The others will be held in Clovis, Sonora, Bishop, Auburn and Susanville. These meetings will be lively discussions of the issues and problems facing our communities and landscapes across the Sierra Nevada Region.
