When the spirited Swanhilda learns that her sweetheart Franz has fallen for a mysterious girl who sits motionless on a balcony, she soon discovers the truth—Coppélia is not a girl at all, but a life-sized doll created by the eccentric Dr. Coppélius. What follows is a humorous and heartwarming adventure filled with clever disguises, lively villagers, and mischievous moments, all set to Delibes’ sparkling score. This lively ballet also features character dance, adding colorful, folk-inspired movement that brings the village and its personalities to life.
