Concert: Honoring Our Country 4th of July
Celebrate Independence Day with music, community, and patriotic spirit at the Paradise Symphony Orchestra's annual 4th of July Concerts!
Enjoy two performances—11:00 AM and 2:00 PM—at the Paradise Performing Arts Center (777 Nunneley Road), featuring a rousing lineup of patriotic favorites. This free community celebration includes performances by the Paradise Symphony, Paradise Community Chorus & Friends, Scottish Society Highland Bagpipes & Drums, Paradise Veterans Color Guard, Paradise Art Center, and Northern California Ballet. This concert features the world premiere of a new musical selection celebrating America’s 250th anniversary of our independence! The Paradise Symphony will present “1776 American Overture” created especially for this occasion with the inspiration of our conductor, Dr. Lloyd Roby and local famed composer, Jeff Janke! “It seems odd to me that concerts throughout America often end with the “1812 Overture” a piece written to commemorate the victory of Russia over France in the Napoleonic Wars,” states Conductor Lloyd Roby. In this new piece you will hear early American and British tunes of the Revolutionary Era with hints of Tchaikovsky-like form and exuberance as is fitting to this celebration!
