On Sunday, November 8, join us in Paradise for a free community gathering marking the anniversary of the Camp Fire and a special work-in-progress preview of the unreleased short film Feather River. Written and directed by filmmaker Allen Myers, who grew up in Paradise, Feather River is an 18-minute narrative short that blends scripted storytelling with archival documentary footage. The film follows a man displaced by the Camp Fire as the loss of home begins to reopen an older grief, eventually leading him back to the Feather River — a familiar place of memory, joy, and connection. The film was made with many people from Paradise and others directly affected by the fire, making this early community showing especially meaningful before the film begins its film festival journey. The evening will include live music, from Susan Dobra and John Michael-Sun, reflections on the long arc of Camp Fire recovery, the work-in-progress film preview, and a post-film conversation with Myers and Blake Ellis of CSU Chico about grief, place, recovery, and ecotherapy. The event is free and open to the community. Doors open at 6:00 PM. Program begins at 6:15 PM Sponsored by Regenerating Paradise and American Rivers
