Thanksgiving Day is fast approaching, so it’s time for the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Magalia Community Church.
A traditional Thanksgiving meal will be served to the community on November 19th, 2022 the Saturday before Thanksgiving, in the Magalia Community Church Fellowship Hall in Old Magalia, between 11:00am and 3:00pm.
Some residents are all alone during the holidays, and some families have been hit hard by these economically difficult times. This meal is not only for them, but for anyone who would like to come for the fellowship that will be found. The meal is free to all.
For some people on the Ridge, the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner provides an opportunity to give to the community by volunteering to help. It takes more than 50 workers to put on this dinner, which typically serves 800 or more people. There is something for everyone to do, and many find joy in serving the community on this special day. There are many who look forward to helping year-after-year.
This is the 33rd year for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. To provide a free meal for so many requires not only volunteers from the community, but donations of food and money. Local businesses as well as individuals and families give money or food items. Anyone who would like to volunteer their time or make a donation of any kind is encouraged to call the office or email.
