SUMMARY:Oak and Native Tree Giveaway
DESCRIPTION:CFRP invites Butte County fire survivors to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the Camp Fire\, by taking part in planting native trees to restore and heal our land post-fire. We will be giving away native tree saplings and other restoration materials for fire survivors and providing education on how to replant them on their properties in the burn scar. Our intention with this event is to not only to provide resources and promote practical action to regenerate our lands\, but also to promote hope and healing within our community. We invite you to join us as we plant new roots\, connect with our land\, and feel empowered to take steps towards our collective healing. This event is free and open to all Butte County fire survivors. \n \n\n**Please note\, that these trees are living beings and we ask that you only sign-up to take trees if you are committed to planting them immediately and caring for them until the rains come.\n \n\nThe available tree species are: Blue Oak\, Black Oak\, Redbud\, Elderberry\, Dogwood\, Amelanchier (Juneberry or serviceberry)\, & Hollyleaf Cherry\n\n\n\nYou must be a Butte County fire survivor to participate and trees must be planted in the Camp Fire or North Complex burn scar.\n\n\n\nSign ups are required to reserve a time-slot to receive your native trees. Due to COVID-19\, time slots are being used to limit the number of people picking up trees at any given time.\n\n\n\nCheck out the Facebook event here
