This is a FREE EVENT for our community\, but we ask that you register in advance.\n\nWorldwide\, but especially here in California\, many of us are in the midst of a huge turning\; a re-thinking and un-learning of past fire practices\, land management and the non-consideration of ancient indigenous knowledge. CFRP is proud to be gathering an incredible group of all-star experts on these topics and we plan on having a full\, information-rich workshop during this one-day gathering in Paradise\, CA!\n\n\n\nThis workshop aims to:\n\n* Increase participants' knowledge and understanding of using good fire for forest health and community safety\n\n* Show how good fire can be used to control invasive species\, and increase the presence of fire-adapted native plants\n\n* Offer info and experience on how Bio Char is created and why it is so valuable for soil health\n\n* Build community while advocating for best practices in forest health and management\n\n* Present volunteer opportunities to work with community members to reduce fire risk\n\n\n\nThe lineup of expert presenters include:\n\nZeke Lunder - pyro-geographer and founder of Deer Creek Resources and host of "The Lookout".\n\nAli Meders-Knight - member of the Mechoopda Tribe and Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) Master Practitioner - TEK Chico.\n\nDallas Koller - coordinates Butte County's Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) through the BC Resource Conservation District.\n\nKen Scherer - owner of KOrganics and member of the Biochar Coalition Steve Feher - of the Sustainable Community Development Institute.\n\nTabor Teachout - Voice of Biochar and member of the Biochar Coalition\n\n\n\nWe will also hear from folks from the Butte County Fire Safe Council and Paradise Recreation and Parks District to learn about local initiatives and ways to get involved.\n\nThis event will be outdoors.
